About this game

Brickstorm is a fast wall-breaker where each round is a named layout, from a plain rainbow wall to an invader shape and a gold-studded fortress. The ball speeds up with every round and with every paddle hit, so long rallies get quicker.

Goal: Break every breakable brick to clear the round; gold bricks never break and do not need to be cleared.

Brickstorm is an original brick breaker built for the browser in the style of 1980s arcade cabinets: pixel art, a chiptune soundtrack and CRT scanlines, all generated in code. It is free, has no ads and needs no download or account.

What’s inside

  • 8 walls, from Warm Up to Finale, that repeat after the last one
  • Steel bricks take two hits; gold bricks never break
  • 5 capsules: Wide, Multi, Slow, Laser and Life
  • 3 lives to start

On a phone
Drag anywhere to put the paddle under your finger, tap to launch the ball or fire the laser, and tap the bottom-right corner to pause.
Round length
A round usually takes 1-3 minutes; all eight walls take roughly 15-20 minutes.

Tips

  • Where the ball meets the paddle sets its angle, so catch it near an edge to send it sideways.
  • Multi splits every ball in play into three, up to nine, so grab it while several balls are already moving.
  • Losing a ball cancels every active power-up, so play safe while Wide or Laser is running.

Questions

How long do power-ups last in Brickstorm?

Wide lasts 15 seconds, Slow and Laser 10 seconds, and Life adds an extra life when you catch it.

Why can't I break the gold bricks?

Gold bricks are indestructible. The round ends when every other brick is gone.
