About this game
Moon Drop asks you to set down on every pad of a jagged moonscape, lift off and fly to the next on one tank of fuel. The camera zooms in near the ground, and each pad shows its multiplier, so you choose between easy wide pads and risky narrow ones.
Goal: Land safely on every pad in the level; slower, more upright landings with fuel to spare score more.
Moon Drop is an original lunar landing game built for the browser in the style of 1980s arcade cabinets: pixel art, a chiptune soundtrack and CRT scanlines, all generated in code. It is free, has no ads and needs no download or account.
What’s inside
- Endless levels with new terrain each time
- 3 to 5 pads per level: x1 wide, x2 medium and x4 narrow
- One refuel pad per level, marked F
- Fog from level 2, meteors from level 3
- 3 lives
- Players
- 1 player
- On a phone
- Arrow buttons at the bottom left rotate, Thrust at the bottom right (or any open space) fires the engine, a small Brake button stops drift, and the bottom-centre button pauses.
- Round length
- A level takes about 1-2 minutes, and a run lasts as many levels as your three pods survive.
Tips
- A landing fails if you are too fast, drifting sideways or tilted more than about 15 degrees, and the crash message says which.
- Hold Down while upright to fire side thrusters that brake sideways drift.
- Visit the refuel pad early, since it fills your tank back up.
Questions
Why did my lander crash on the pad in Moon Drop?
You were too fast, drifting or tilted. Slow down, cancel sideways motion and stay upright before touching down.
What happens when I run out of fuel?
The engine stops and the pod falls. Losing a pod gives you a fresh tank on the next one.
