Short version: you can play every game without giving us anything. Your high scores live in your own browser. A score reaches our server only when you choose to submit it to a leaderboard, and then we keep just your three initials, the game, the score and the time.

Stored in your browser

Each game saves your best score, and some games save settings, progress or statistics (for example a word-game streak or a fishing log), in your browser’s local storage. The arcade itself also keeps a few things there for you: the games you played recently, your daily-challenge streak, the initials you last typed and, for the current tab only, which games you started and where the visit came from. This never leaves your device on its own (the usage counts below send only an event name, a game and a broad source). Clearing your browser data removes it.

Leaderboards

When you press Submit to leaderboard, your browser sends us the game, your score and the three initials you typed. We store those with the submission time and show them publicly on that game’s boards. Daily boards are deleted after 31 days; the all-time top 100 per game is kept. A score far above a game’s record waits for a quick human check before it appears. Use initials that do not identify you if you prefer.

Spam protection

To stop one person flooding the boards, our server counts submissions per network address. The address is held in memory for up to an hour for that count only; it is not written to disk and not stored with your score.

Usage counts

To learn which games people enjoy, pages send our own server a few anonymous events, such as “a game was opened”, “a game was started” or “a score was shared”, together with the game and a broad traffic source (for example search, Instagram or direct). The server only adds one to a daily total. No cookies or identifiers are used, nothing is tied to you, and addresses are not stored: they are held in memory for at most an hour to stop one visitor inflating the counts. Daily totals are kept for up to 400 days.

What we do not do

No accounts, no advertising, no tracking cookies and no third-party analytics. Fonts are served from this site, not from a font service. Score cards you create with Share score card are drawn in your browser. Copying a result (for example in Letter Lock) only happens when you press the copy button.

Contact form

If you send a message through the contact page, we keep what you typed (and your email address, if you give one) so we can read it and reply. We delete messages once they are dealt with and never use the address for anything else.

Service providers

The site runs on a hosting provider and is reached through a domain and network provider. Like any web host they may keep standard technical request logs (such as address, time and page) under their own policies.

Removing a score

If an entry is yours and you want it removed, or you see offensive initials, use the contact page (topic: Leaderboards) with the game and the initials.

Changes

If what we collect changes, this page changes first, with a new date at the top.
