About this game
Pixel Bastion sends raiders along a fixed, winding road to your gate while you build towers beside it. Each new enemy type arrives with a short note on how to beat it, and every map keeps its own star rating and best score.
Goal: Survive every wave on a map before your 20 lives run out; finishing with more lives earns more stars.
Pixel Bastion is an original tower defence game built for the browser in the style of 1980s arcade cabinets: pixel art, a chiptune soundtrack and CRT scanlines, all generated in code. It is free, has no ads and needs no download or account.
What’s inside
- 3 maps: Greenvale Pass (20 waves), Ashen Gorge (25) and Whitecrag Ridge (30)
- 4 towers: Archer, Cannon, Frost and Lightning, each with 3 upgrades
- Raiders, Runners, Platebacks, Wyverns, Shamans and Oozes
- Siege Ogre bosses on every tenth wave and the final wave
- Up to 3 stars per map, plus fast-forward
- Players
- 1 player
- On a phone
- Tap an empty tile to open the build menu, tap a tower to upgrade or sell it, and use the Next Wave, fast-forward and pause buttons in the top bar.
- Round length
- A 20-wave map takes about 10-15 minutes at normal speed; the longer maps take more.
Tips
- Wyverns fly, so only Archer and Lightning towers can hit them; build one of those before wave 7.
- Platebacks shrug off part of every arrow and cannonball, while Lightning and Frost ignore armour.
- Calling a wave early with Space or Next Wave pays one gold for every second left on the countdown.
Questions
How do I get three stars in Pixel Bastion?
Clear the final wave with at least 18 of your 20 lives left. Ten or more earns two stars.
Can I sell a tower?
Yes. Selling returns 70 percent of everything you spent on it, upgrades included.
