About this game
In Prop Aces you fly for Free Valemont against the Iron Directorate across four stages. Each stage is split by an enemy ace and closed by a large boss whose gun turrets must be shot away before its core opens.
Goal: Fight through all four stages and their bosses for the highest score, then carry on into a harder loop.
Prop Aces is an original vertical shooter built for the browser in the style of 1980s arcade cabinets: pixel art, a chiptune soundtrack and CRT scanlines, all generated in code. It is free, has no ads and needs no download or account.

- Round length
- A stage takes about 3-4 minutes, so a full run of four stages takes roughly 12-16 minutes.
Tips
- A barrel roll lets bullets pass through you for 50 points each, but you cannot fire mid-roll.
- Weapon crates flip between Guns and Lance every two seconds; taking the same type in a row pays a chain bonus of up to 5,000.
- Wiping out a whole formation pays 300 points per plane, times your multiplier.
Questions
Can I play Prop Aces with a friend?
Yes. Choose two players on the title screen; player 2 flies with IJKL, fires with N, bombs with M and rolls with B.
What happens if I don't shoot down an enemy ace in time?
After about 45 seconds the ace escapes, and the stage carries on without its kill bonus.
