About this game
Kart Krush races six karts over three laps on top-down circuits. Holding drift through a bend charges a boost, and item boxes hand out weapons that depend on your position: leaders mostly get oil slicks and smoke, while drivers at the back get more homing bees and bounce balls.
Goal: Finish ahead of the field; each race gives 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 and 1 points for first to sixth, and your score also counts boosts and item hits.
Kart Krush is an original kart racer built for the browser in the style of 1980s arcade cabinets: pixel art, a chiptune soundtrack and CRT scanlines, all generated in code. It is free, has no ads and needs no download or account.

- Players
- 1-2 players on one keyboard in split screen; on a phone, 1 player.
- On a phone
- On a phone the d-pad steers and up accelerates, with Drift and Item buttons on the right and a pause button at the bottom centre; the two-player modes are greyed out as keyboard only.
- Round length
- A three-lap race takes about 1-2 minutes, and a full Grand Prix about 5-8 minutes.
Tips
- Hold drift for about half a second for an orange boost or about 1.25 seconds for a blue Super Boost, then release.
- Leaving the road roughly halves your top speed, and Frost Pass has far less grip than the other circuits, so start drifts earlier there.
- A kart that has just spun out cannot be hit again for a couple of seconds, so save your next item for a different target.
Questions
Can two people play Kart Krush?
Yes, on one keyboard in split screen. Player 1 drives with the arrows, Space to drift and Z for items; player 2 uses WASD, F to drift and G for items.
What does the smoke screen do?
It hits every other driver at once for a few seconds: a human player's view fills with smoke, and computer drivers wobble and lose a little speed.
